Since Gordon, Jason, and I all post Power Rankings, I’ve decided to post this composite list after every elimination episode. Contestants are awarded points based on their rankings in each list and then re-ranked based on grand total of points from all three. The week’s eliminated contestant will not be included in Composite Power Rankings. After each [...] Wow, what a crazy week. I can’t believe it, but Siobhan has to be the one to go. So bad. Here’s my rankings. The number after each contestant’s name is their ranking from last week. 1. Lee Dewyze (2) – The impossible has happened. I have ranked Lee Dewyze number one. I can’t help it, he’s gotten [...] Now that we’re down to six, these speculations have become downright painful. I think someone is going home who I don’t want to go home. Who Should be in the Bottom Three Siobhan Magnus. What a letdown she’s been! She’s got all the talent in the world but seemingly no clue as to how to use it. I think a lot of the people who have been bitching about this season may take it back as we hit the top five. It’s going to be a pretty intense run, and I have no clue who will win. My rankings are flipping and flopping a lot more than they did last year. Here’s this [...] This was a surpisingly good week for the Idols, and one of the standout episodes of the season. When I heard we were going to be hearing the Shania Twain songbook, I had a bit of a WTF moment, since I couldn’t even name six Shania Twain songs. However, that may have been beneficial, as [...] OK, Idol. You’ve got to be kidding me. Lennon/McCartney week, Elvis week, Shania Twain week–one of these things is not like the other. How long will I be able to resist saying about a performance, “That Don’t Impress Me Much?” How long will a contestant be able to resist singing it? Find out. She’s been drop-dead brilliant a time or two (“House of the Rising Sun” and “Paint it Black”) and really bad (“Through the Fire”) or utterly clueless (“Suspicious Minds”) on other occasions. I’m tempted to put this one off because I am exhausted and I suspect no one is going to get eliminated this week (which is what they’ve done in the past on the Idol Gives Back show). Last week Katie got screwed, and we finally got rid of the disappointing Andrew. Everyone brought it this week, at least in effort, as the pressure is no doubt building.
