As seen last week, the first week of the American Idol has often been what I call “the choke round”, with solid contestants blowing it and losing. Welcome to the group, Lacey! Week 2, however, has in general been one of returning balance. Maybe people see a good contestant lose to an obviously worse one and [...] Here are the original Rolling Stones versions of the songs performed on the Top Twelve show. Last night’s show was surprisingly good, with only two performers indisputably laying eggs. That makes this part easy: Who Should be in the Bottom Three Tim Urban, for the sin of missing the point of a song with lyrics as unsubtle as “Under My Thumb.” For the most part, last night didn’t so much shuffle things around as solidify trends. Siobhan is trending upward, Andrew is trending downward. However, three of the most derided candidates–Paige, Aaron, and Katie–put in surprisingly solid performances. Tim remains static as his utter cluelessness continues unabated. We have a new number one, however–Crystal’s strategy of being [...] Alright, quit your bitching. Yes, this means you. I think last week’s eliminations were bullshit, too, but I didn’t vote for Alex Lambert and I suspect you didn’t either. But what’s done is done. Time to move on. And move on we shall. Gordon and I, being big fantasy football fans, decided to do the first annual Idolpundit Fantasy Idol for the Top 12 that starts tonight. I somewhat understand Todrick and Katelyn, but Alex and Lilly? Unbelievable. I guess only high school girls and worshippers of the mediocre were voting this week. Oh, well.
